Experience: Virgil has organized and established new not-for-profit
organizations and community groups and helped them with various stages of
planning. He has helped multiple organizations to collaborate and sometimes
to merge. He has served on 11 Boards; on 4 of these he was a founding
member. He has been elected to three political positions.
Bi-lingual in German and English, Virgil is willing to consult
internationally. Most recently, his assignments have taken him to Ohio,
California, Kansas, Michigan, Washington, and Virginia along with work in
Massachusetts.
In addition to being President of eQuad Associates, Virgil's primary role is as the President of CooperRiis (www.CooperRiis.org), a role he began April 2003. Most recently he has served as Vice President for Planning and Development of Northern Berkshire Health Systems (www.nbhealth.org) and President of the REACH Community Health Foundation. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Philanthropy for the Visionaries Institute (www.Visionaries.org). (Disclaimer: His eQuad work can not conflict with either role.)
He has also been President of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (5 yrs.), President of Rose Hill Center for the Mentally Ill (5 yrs.), and held executive positions with Gould Farm, America's Oldest Therapeutic Community for the Mentally Ill (14 yrs.).
Education: Virgil's education includes a Masters in Business
Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science, and
completion of the Grantsmanship Center's Development Officer Training
Program.
Honors include: Election to Phi Beta Kappa, to the Knights of Malta, to the Young Leaders of Oakland County (MI) and recent designations as Citizen of the Year by the Berkshire Alliance for the Mentally Ill and as one of the 50 most influential leaders in the northern Berkshires by the North Adams Transcript.
